Dress to Impress: Five Last Minute Halloween Costumes

You probably already have your Halloween costume picked out – you might have even worn it this past weekend to a party.  But maybe you wore your costume and something happened to it, or maybe you got invited to a last minute party.  Or maybe you’re just a procrastinator (no shame!).  I’m sure there are still some of you out there scrambling to come up with what to wear for Halloween.  For those of you who still need a costume for Tuesday, for whatever reason, we’re here to help!  Here are five easy last minute costumes.

Scarecrow is a great quick Halloween costume because you probably already have everything on hand.  All you need is a plaid shirt, jeans, boots, and a floppy hat.  It’s also a good option because you could go cute or creepy with it.

For this costume you’ll likely only have to pick up a few small things to complete it.  A red balloon as a cherry, coffee filters as whipped cream, and sparkly cardstock or felt come together to create this tasty costume.  For more detailed directions click here.

It’s hard to go wrong with a Waldo (or Wenda, or Woof!) costume.  All you need is a red and white striped shirt, beanie, and some black rimmed glasses and you’re set.  Depending on how much time you have to prepare you can get some extra accessories like a walking stick, binoculars, camera, and travel bag.

If you don’t want to spend money on clothes for a costume you may never wear again, this costume is all about the makeup.  Toeing the line between creepy and cute it’s an ideal last minute costume idea.  Once the makeup is done all you have to do is toss on your most doll-like clothes.

This costume can work as a couple’s costume or solo.  Just plot out your favorite neighborhood on your shirt with yellow duct tape and create the classic red pin with cardboard.

Hopefully we’ve given you some ideas and inspiration if you still need a costume idea.  If you already have this year’s costume, then maybe you’ll get an idea for next year.  It’s never too early to plan Halloween costumes!
