Joanna Gaines is probably most well known for the show Fixer Upper on HGTV, which she co-hosts with her husband Chip. Based out of Waco, Texas, the pair have been remodeling and flipping houses for the past twelve years, working on over a hundred different homes in that time.
While Chip manages the real estate portion of their business, Joanna’s the one with an eye for design, making sure every interior they remodel looks great. Shortly after getting married Joanna opened a home accessory store called Magnolia, which Loloi has now collaborated with to bring Joanna’s rug collection to the public.
An important, yet perhaps often overlooked aspect of room design are the finishing touches, especially the textiles which can add warmth and texture to the room. Joanna was inspired to create her own rug collection after becoming frustrated by not being able to find what she was looking for when working on projects for clients. She often found herself turning to rather neutral jute rugs, which are fine but not the most exciting option. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, the best thing to do is simply make it yourself! And that’s exactly what Joanna decided to do.
While designing the collection, Joanna wanted to, “…curate pieces that would bring unique texture, dimension, pattern and color…” to her clients homes. To achieve this she added features like fringe, tassels, and stitched-in details to add an aspect of dimension not typically found in textiles. The unique combinations of color, pattern, and texture are sure to bring a new perspective to your space. The rugs are made in different locations around the world using a variety of old world and new techniques such as hand-knotting and power-looming.
The Brushstroke collection was designed to make a bold statement. The rugs in this collection use pattern and color to create a big impact wherever they’re placed. Each piece is made of one hundred percent wool and hand-tufted in India for a high-quality, incredibly detailed rug.
The Tulum Collection is a bit more traditional, but still full of style. With a soft and subtle ribbed texture and braided fringe detail the rugs in this collection have a slight Moroccan feel to them. More neutral and casual these rugs will never go out of style. Each piece is hand-knotted in India out of one hundred percent wool so you get only the highest quality rug.
Designing and curating this collection of rugs from beginning to end was important to Joanna because she knows that the right rug can become the centerpiece of a room and be “…a continuation of the story your home tells…” Working with so many different clients has given Joanna a unique perspective on what types of styles people are looking for, and she made sure to include something to fit everyone’s taste. As if she’s not already busy enough being a designer, renovator, and mom, Joanna is already at work creating a new collection of textiles to help you spruce up your home.
